Like for example, when we saw that Charlie was trying his best to push Raymond on to an airplane, Raymond busted like a small child does and was obstinate not to board the plane(ALCHEssMIST., 2013) . Raymond was good at storing information and then when required retrieving the information in an efficient manner. Like for example, we could observe in the movie that Raymond was able to memorize an entire part of the phone book and he could also calculate equations at a very high speed but on the other hand, Raymond could not decipher the very basic of things and he thought price of a candy and car both were $100(O'Guinn, 2012) . When it came to social interactions, Raymond was totally different when compared to Charlie and throughout the movie we find that Charlie approaches Raymond for doing different things. We also find that Raymond was not comfortable or even able to catch the jokes in a social gathering. One of the most hilarious situation was when he kept on asking, Who is on the first base? he did not understand that it was meant to be a joke Humanistic perspective In the beginning, we see that both Raymond and his brother, Charlie lack a humanistic touch, of course both had different reasons but as we are concerned with Raymond alone so we will talk about him in detail. Raymond in the starting was an anti-social person and did not like any new person in his life, this was visible in the very first quarter of the movie where we find that he is possessive about his stuff and does not like to share or discuss it with anyone. When Charlie starts exploring his books, Raymond does not like it and insists him to keep back the books. Although a the movie goes by, the country journey and all other days with his brother, helped him in realizing an emotion called as love and he was able to find a connect with Charlie and even miss him while they are parting. In short both Charlie and Raymond were able to experience personal growth the level might be different but they both do gain it. Lysistrata Aristophanes was a "craft" comedy poet in the fourth century B.C. during the time of the Peloponnesian War. Aristophanes' usual style was to be too satirical, and suggesting the outlandish. He shows little mercy when mocking Socrates and his "new-fangled ideas" which were most likely designed to destroy the cohesiveness of society and lead to anarchy, in his play The Clouds. The most absurd and humorous of Aristophanes' comedies are those in which the main characters, the heroes of the story, are women. Smart women. One of the most famous of Aristophanes' comedies depicting powerfully effectual women is the Lysistrata, named after the female lead character of the play. It portrays Athenian Lysistrata and the women of Athens teaming up with the women of Sparta to force their husbands to end the Peloponnesian War. To make the men agree to a peace treaty, the women seized the Acropolis, where Athens' financial reserves are kept, and prevented the men from squandering them further on the war. They then beat back an attack on their position by the old men who have remained in Athens while the younger men are out on campaign. When their husbands return from battle, the women refuse to have sex with them. This sex strike, which is portrayed in a series of (badly) exaggerated and blatant sexual innuendoes, finally convinces the men of Athens and Sparta to agree to a peace treaty. The Lysistrata shows women acting bravely and even aggressively against men who seem resolved on ruining the city-state by prolonging a pointless war and excessively expending reserves stored in the Acropolis. This in turn added to the destruction of their family life by staying away from home for long stretches while on military campaign. The men would come home when they could, sexually relieve themselves, and then leave again to continue a senseless war. The women challenge the masculine role model to preserve the traditional way of life of the community. When the women become challenged themselves, they take on the masculine characteristics and attitudes and defeat the men physically, mentally but most of all strategically. Proving that neither side benefits from it, just that one side loses more than the other side. It's easy to see why fourth century B.C. Athenian women would get tired of their men leaving. Most Athenian women married in their teens and never had to be on their own, and probably wouldn't know what to do if they did land on their own. The men leave for war and some don't return because of death or whatever reasons, so now a widow finds herself on her own, probably with children, and no one to take care of her or her children. She might be able to enter her male children as a journeyman/ward to a wealthy family (who either have no male children, or most likely lost their son(s) in one of the wars) that will raise him. The widow has few prospects. If she's young and attractive enough with the right domestic skills she might be able to remarry. But her lot isn't too promising. After all, why would you want a widow, when you could get a "fresh" wife to "break-in" the way you want and start a family from your own seed? According to Lysistrata it is easier to untangling multinational politics, stop wars and fighting than the women's work of sorting out wool. If you just stop war, it's settled, but with wool all tangles must be physically labored out by hand. Women's work is never done. Lysistrata insists that women have the intelligence and judgment to make political decisions. She came by her knowledge, she says, in the traditional way: "I am a woman, and, yes, I have brains. MT was a fourteen year old boy that was entering his freshman year of high school. MT was very athletic and active young man. One day MT, used to the usual severe headaches that he sometime got, blacked out. His parents rushed him to the emergency room. The doctors believed it was just a seizure. After a couple weeks in the hospital MT was released from the hospital just before Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving day MT blacked out again. He was again rushed to the hospital. This time doctors believed it was a tumor, but had to wait for the swelling in the brain to go down to do surgery. MT went into a coma, which he never came out of. The doctors finally figured out MT had a rare disease called Moa-Moa. The disease caused the blood vessels in the brain to burst. MT died five days before his fifteenth birthday. Out of 100 eighth graders surveyed at a middle school in Pennsylvania, 73% of them said that you have to read a lot and practice reading. When the same one hundred eighth graders were asked how they feel about reading, 55% said they love it, 26% were indifferent to it, and 19% said that they disliked it. As a teacher researcher, I decided to take a look at some reasons why my students were not reading and ways to get them to read more. I have split my readers into three groups; fluent readers, indifferent readers and reluctant†¦show more content†¦They often said that they could not find good books. When I asked one student what a good book was she responded, Good books are really hard to find. Thats why I dont read. The books that we read in school are always boring and we are forced to read them. I really only read them because I have to, but I dont like them. With this attitude toward reading it will be more difficult to get the indifferent readers to become lovers of reading. Taking the example of the boring books that teachers often teach, we do often get comfortable with teaching books that we know well or books that are our favorites. We must look beyond this as a criteria for our teaching and understand that our children may not have developed the same love for literature yet and most likely are on a different reading level than us, so we cant expect them to love or understand Shakespeare right off the bat.
